I have lived here in Hurghada for many years and one of my missions is to show, tell, pass on the experiences I have gained over the years, how I fit in as a woman, how they were accepted by the Egyptian people, how to live together from two different cultures, what traditions we have adopted or kept. This is particularly interesting from the point of view of a European person.
Behind the exterior, the interior content is very important, the real face of Egypt does not lie and end in luxury hotels, in order to taste the Egyptian reality, we have to go out and discover life outside the walls of the hotel! You have to notice what lies behind a striking, sun-sucked face in the harbor or a pair of eyes peeking out from under the veil. We can listen in on the loud chatter of market vendors while they offer their port. On our journey of discovery, in Sakkala, we will see the wonderful new El Mina Mosque, which can withstand the ‘scent’ emitted by fish in the 40 ° C heat, showing it the multitude of fish market offerings and fishing boats. It can also be interesting for the dry dock, especially for people with a technical mindset, to see how and how a boat is lifted and what workflows make it safe and beautiful again for sea voyages. Afterwards we can see the Coptic temple in Dahar, we also enter the suk, where we can choose from the local fruit and vegetable offer. If our time allows, we will visit the New Marina - New Harbor.
Upon special request, we can stop at a spicy hibiscus (karkadi) tea and at a perfume shop. If you’re brave enough, you can sample local food, Full (bean sandwich), or Falafel (vegetable meatballs), or drink a glass of asabi (sugar cane soft drink) if you dare to indulge.
It does not include papyrus or perfume shopping, it is possible during a trip to Cairo or Luxor, of course we can help or stop on special request, but this is not the primary purpose of presenting the city.

Helpful Hints: Appropriate clothing, given the high heat, should ensure adequate fluid intake. Due to the great heat, we recommend that you use sunscreen, headgear, sunglasses, and of course don't forget your camera at the hotel!
